Free comic book day 2013

YEAR: 2013

location: huntington beach, ca

In 2013, Phat Collectibles invited me to sculpt live at their Free Comic Book Day in-store event. Having sculpted here live before, I was very excited and the event definitely surpassed my expectatitons. This time around, I chose to sculpt Dr. Doom sitting on his throne. The event was a blast and I got to sit next to some very talented, established comic book artists while they did free sketches for all the people. I met a lot of kind people and got a lot of exposure that day....

Free comic book day 2012

YEAR: 2013

location: huntington beach, ca

In July of 2012, a local comic book shop "Phat Collectibles" invited me to sculpt live for an in-store event. I decided to sculpt Batman perched on top of a gargoyle. While I did not finish the entire piece during the event, I did get a big portion of the sculpt done and had a blast doing it. I met a ton of people, and got to sit next to established comic book artists while they did free sketches for people. All in all, it was a fun time.

Traveling Art show

YEAR: 2012

location: huntington beach, ca

What happens when restaurants, lounges, community centers and even art galleries (who all claim to promote art and helping emerging artists blah blah blah) want to charge you 2500 bucks to rent their venue for a one night art show? You make some flyers, print the flyers, rent a u-haul, fill it with your art, plaster the flyers you made all over the u-haul and you drive your ass down to the beach, park on PCH and let the people come to you! And if you're lucky, a solar eclipse will occur.... bringing even more people out your way. This art experiment slash statement to the art world and to my fellow artists around the world was sponsored by Marley's Mellow Mood who I was lucky enough to partner with. This experiment was a success because I proved to myself that there is always another way.

graffiti beach grand opening

YEAR: 2012

location: SAn diego, ca

Graffiti Beach reached out to me to be apart of their grand opening store in San Diego. They organize and host events with various types of artists, including fashion designers, makeup artists, musicians and DJs all throughout southern California. A couple of months ago I was asked to participate in a mural along with three other artists for a pop-up, temporary, shop in Venice, CA. When it was all said and done, it was a great experience. A few months later I was asked if I would like to do another mural in their new permanent store in San Diego and that I would be the only artist this time. Of course I agreed and decided to participate in the grand opening party/event creating the mural throughout the evening. I had a blast and met a lot of awesome people.

Belmont shore art walk

YEAR: 2011

location: Belmont shore, ca

I was asked if I would like to show my work as well as doing some live art at the Belmont Shore Arts Walk on 10/22/11. Being new to the general area, I agreed to sculpt live at the event and display some pieces for sale. The show was a lot of fun and I met a ton of people, many of which just stopped to show me some love.... since Halloween was coming up, I decided to sculpt Nightmare Before Christmas' Jack Skellington...

liquid aloha music festival

YEAR: 2011

location: newport beach, ca

I was invited to show my work and sculpt LIVE which was something new to me all together at the Liquid Aloha Music Festival. The entire experience was really awesome and I discovered that not only could I sculpt LIVE and do it pretty well, but I discovered that I actually enjoy working in front of people. I met lots or people, sold a few art toys and enjoyed lots of free, local brew!

The swoop factory launch  party

YEAR: 2011

location: el segundo, ca

I was invited to show my work at Swoop Magazine's launch party celebrating their new print magazine. This awesome place is the official headquarters for Swoop Magazine. At the event, they had a few artists showcasing their work, free food, live music and lots of random but awesome characters. It was a fun time!
