I was asked if I would come down to Phat Collectibles for this years Free Comic Day and sculpt live like I had done the previous year. Of course I said yes! So I chose to sculpt Doctor Doom sitting on his throne, clutching some ripped annonymous Fantastic Four cloth in one hand and skull chalice in the other. Going into the event, I had sculpted about 90 percent of the throne and two of Dr. Doom's legs. During the event I finished a large portion of the piece and the following days completed sculpting and painting the piece. From begining to end, the piece took about a week to finish.

The project started when I was asked if I would participate in an emerging artist showcase at a local comic book store by the name of Phat Collectibles. I agreed to sculpt a comic book character live at the event. Being a longtime Batman fan myself and taking into account the new Batman film The Dark Knight Rises is approaching, I chose to sculpt Batman kneeling on top of a gargoyle. I chose to base the sculpt off of the great Antonio Salvador Daniel aka Tony Daniel, cover of Batman issue #670 A Prelude to the Resurrection of Ra's Al Ghul. Long story short, the event was fun and a lot of people really enjoyed watching me sculpt live. While I didn't finished the entire sculpt at the event, it didn't take long before the sculpt was done and ready to be painted.... by me of course.

Here is a custom Mini Munny I did awhile back. Like all Kidrobot toys, it came with an accessory, in this case a pinwheel. I took a freestyle approach and tried my best not to think and just paint. After painting the entire thing black, I took three Decocolor paint markers and just tried to stay free....

As apart of my new "back to basics" mentality and getting back into drawing with pencil, this is my second piece, of the late Tupac Amaru Shakur. The portrait is done entirely in pencil, "Makaveli" (Tupac's alias he adopted late in life) was created using acrylic paint. I chose the color red to represent the passion and emotion that exuded Tupac in all of his doings. The most intelligent.... realest... truest.. greatest rapper of all time, rest in peace... Makaveli, the don...

A dangerous mind seeks the truth. A dangerous mind can see, hear and feel truth. A dangerous mind questions all and believes only itself. A dangerous mind knows that the only real truth is found within. A dangerous mind does not conform. It does not follow. It does not duplicate. It goes right when all else go left. It chooses green between black or white. It knows the value of time. It knows that real hip hop isn't the beat but the rhyme. A dangerous mind is all the above. A dangerous mind knows God is love....

The Future was inspired and made for my homie, my compadre, my dogg, my brotha from another motha, 2D aka Derrek Noel Jr. From one artist to another, D is one of the sickest unknown drummers out there so it only made sense to give The Future some drum sticks of his own. The entire piece is made from wood and imagination. It was a fun piece to make and great addition to the Khob Familia.

Khob's Kush is made out of wood, glass, an altered imagination, organic guts.. haha.. and created from a random "oh that'd be cool" idea/moment. Its pretty much self explanatory, definitely for a mature audience but is all in good fun....

Original concept was to create a DIY wooden toy for designers and art enthusiasts to customize. The toy was inspired by non-profit organization Graffiti Beach, which I have been lucky enough to show with. This particular painting scheme is just one in a quadrillion different ways one could customize the toy. My alias is KHOB so it was only right that I called my first true designer toy KHOBoom!
